Temperature > 03 - Thermal Equilibrium

If we place a hot object next to a cold one, they will both be at the same temperature, that is, heat is transferred from the object with a higher temperature to the object with a lower temperature.

An example of this heat transfer phenomenon is when we mix hot coffee with cold milk. You can see that when mixing this, the temperature of the two liquids tends to equalize until they are the same, hence why the mixture becomes lukewarm. The scientific explanation is Thermal Equilibrium.

When we mix milk with coffee, the transfer reaction begins. At first we can still feel the heat of the coffee in the liquid, but it only takes a few seconds for the temperature to change. The heat flow moves quickly until it reaches thermal equilibrium.
