The product
The Cryogenic High Flow High Pressure Pump SLS, by Nikkiso ACD, is a family of high flow/pressure pumps, available as 3-SLS and 5-SLS. It adapts to mobile and/or stationary applications using a standard base model and pumps nitrogen and methane. In addition, its better than 30-to-one turndown ratio reaches flows low enough to meet coil-tubing applications.
How the Cryogenic High Flow High Pressure Pump SLS works
The SLS has an improved drive end design. As a result, it allows for longer life and cooler temperatures during operation.
The Non-Key Polygon Design also reduces drive end failure risk due to the shaft key.
At the warm end, the SLS offers three configurations: 3-SLS, 3-SLSGRO and 5-SLSGRO. This way, the customer can choose options such as counter balance, gear reduction, internal or external oil pump and digital tachometer.
Applications
- Nitrogen purging
- High temperature nitrogen operations
- Coil-tubing applications
- Mobile and stationary applications

Features and Benefits
- Multiple configurations enable adaptability and conformity to mobile and/or stationary applications using a standard base model
- Better than 30-to-one turndown ratio allows for a wide range of operating parameters, including flows low enough to meet coil-tubing applications
- Longer life and cooler temperatures at the drive end
- Lower drive end failure risk with the Non-Key Polygon Design
Nitrogen Purging
Nitrogen purging using ACD pumps is a technique used to replace hydrocarbon vapors, flammable and toxic gases or air with an environmentally safe and inert dry atmosphere.
The two most common methods of purging are displacement and dilution. The geometry of the process system determines which method is used. Therefore, for simple systems, displacement purging is usually more effective.
High Temperature Nitrogen
Delicate operations such as furnace bake-outs, catalyst regeneration and hydrocarbon and solvent stripping have been safely performed using high temperature inert nitrogen.
