The product
The orifice flow meter is a differential pressure-based instrument designed to measure the flow of gases, steam, and liquids in pipelines. It is widely used for process control and measurement in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, metallurgy, power generation, heating, and water supply.
The throttling device (orifice plate) is part of a differential pressure flow measurement system, consisting of a primary element (orifice plate) and a secondary device (differential pressure transmitter and flow indicator). It is known for its simple structure, easy maintenance, and stable performance.
Working principle
As the fluid flows through the pipe and passes the orifice plate, a local restriction is created, causing an increase in flow velocity and generating a pressure difference between the upstream and downstream sides.
Based on known parameters and applying the continuity equation and Bernoulli’s principle, the relationship between differential pressure and flow rate can be established, allowing accurate flow calculation.
