The product
Fibro® Platinum Thermocouple Wire, proprietary technology from Metivo, part of BASF Group, offers superior performance in high-temperature environments. This results in increased thermocouple lifespan and reduced precious metal content without compromising performance.
How Fibro® Platinum Thermocouple Wire works
Fibro® wire retards grain growth and minimizes slippage. That is why it maintains the chemical and thermoelectric properties of pure thermocouple-grade platinum, with 99.995% purity.
Its fine-grained structure is oriented along the drawing direction. This way, the platinum wire for thermocouples gains enhanced resistance to deformation and breakage.
Applications
Metivo Fibro® wire is ideal for applications requiring reliable temperature measurement in high-temperature and mechanically demanding environments:
- Glass industry: used in forehearth, crown and bottom applications where consistent temperature monitoring is critical.
- Semiconductor manufacturing: provides stable temperature readings in epitaxial reactors, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
- High-temperature furnaces: ensures accurate temperature measurement in furnaces operating at elevated temperatures over extended periods.
- Aerospace testing: suitable for monitoring temperatures in rocket exhaust and other aerospace applications requiring high precision.
- Metallurgical processes: ideal for processes involving molten metals, where the platinum thermocouple is subjected to thermal and mechanical stresses.
