The product
An ultrasonic flow meter is an instrument that uses ultrasonic technology to measure the flow of liquids or gases. Its operation is based on the propagation characteristics of ultrasonic waves and fluid dynamics principles, calculating flow rate by measuring the time or frequency differences of signals transmitted through the fluid.
These meters typically consist of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends ultrasonic signals through the fluid, while the receiver captures them. Based on this interaction, the system accurately determines flow velocity and volumetric flow.
Working principle
When ultrasonic waves propagate through a liquid, the movement of the fluid causes slight variations in transmission time. This variation is directly proportional to the flow velocity.
At zero flow, the transmission time between sensors is identical. When flow is present, the transmission time against the flow direction is longer than in the flow direction, enabling accurate flow calculation.
