The vortex flow meter operates based on the principle of vortex generation and the relationship between vortex frequency and flow rate, according to the Kármán and Strouhal theories. It is especially suitable for measuring steam, gases, and low-viscosity liquids.

The product

The stress-type vortex flow meter is a velocity-based flow meter widely used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, heating, and others. The equipment complies with standards JB/T9249-2015 (vortex flow sensor) and JJG1029-2016 (vortex flowmeter verification regulation).

Working principle

The operation of the vortex flow meter is based on the vortex shedding phenomenon, which occurs when a fluid passes through an obstacle (bluff body).

As the fluid flows past the obstacle, it generates alternating vortices on both sides. These vortices are detected by a sensor, which converts them into electrical signals. By analyzing the frequency of these signals, the instrument accurately calculates the flow rate.
