Learn more about Sigrist

Sigrist-Photometer AG is a Swiss manufacturer of optical measuring instruments, headquartered in Ennetbürgen, Switzerland. Founded in 1946 by Dr. Willy Sigrist, the company was born from a need in the brewing industry: continuous quality monitoring during beer filtration. To meet it, Sigrist developed the first online turbidity meter, based on flicker mirror technology. To this day, all products are developed and manufactured at the headquarters, under the Swiss Made label.

In process measurement, Sigrist is a reference in turbidity and photometric analysis. The portfolio includes process and laboratory turbidity meters, color meters, brewery sensors such as PhaseGuard, TurbiGuard and ColorPlus, and the SiCon 40 series control units. The TurBiScat, for example, measures turbidity with a resolution of 0.001 EBC and a repeatability of ±0.001 EBC. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, as well as ATEX and EHEDG certified equipment.

These instruments work in drinking water treatment, water reuse, beverages and food, industrial processes, and traffic and environmental monitoring. In Switzerland’s Gotthard tunnel, 210 FireGuard sensors have been detecting smoke since 2007. Through a network of sales and service partners, Sigrist is present in more than 80 countries.

The partnership with Alutal brings this technology to the Brazilian market with local technical support. That is why the Alutal team guides each customer from application analysis to the choice of the analyzer best suited to the process.
